Abdul Karim Disu

Abdul Karim Disu was a Nigerian journalist who was the first Nigerian to earn a post graduate degree in journalism when he took attended Columbia University in 1944. During the nation's independence era, he became the principal secretary to the Governor General, Nnamdi Azikiwe and was later appointed to the post of director of information under the Nigerian Information ministry.

Disu was born on October 10, 1912, he attended King's College, Lagos and then Lincoln University. Prior to attending the university, he worked as a clerk with Nigerian Marine from 1931-1938. In 1955, he became an associate editor of the West African Pilot. After his stint at the pilot, he became the general manager of the Eastern Information Service.
