Abdulkadir Koguna

Abdulkadir Abubakar Koguna is a Nigerian politician of a populist temperament who was the country's ambassador to Pakistan in the 1960s. He was also Kano provincial president of the NPC in the late 1950s having lost previously to Rilwanu Abdullahi.


Koguna was born in 1922. He attended Dambatta Elementary School, 1933-1937, Kano Middle School, 1937-1942 and Clerical College, Zaria. He started work as a teacher in Gwarzo before joining the Kano forestry department. In 1950, he became a staff member of the Kano Native Authority in the works department and rose to the position of supervisor for rural water installations by 1957.

During the nation's liberation period, he was a member of the Northern People's Congress and represented Kano East in the House of Representatives.
