Abdulkadir Makama was a Nigerian journalist form Kano who was a son of Muhammadu Gidado, the Waziri of Kano and brother to Isa Waziri and Dokaji Abubakar. He was a founding member of Jam'iyyar Mutanen Arewa and was publicity secretary of the organization. He was also an editor with the Gaskiya Corporation and was an editor in Chief of the Nigerian Citizen.
Makama was born in June, 1916. He was educated at Kano Middle School and Katsina Higher College. He then worked at the Kano City Office and later as a librarian with the Kano emirate. In 1941, he joined Gaskiya Ta Fi Kwabo as an assistant editor and later served the paper as a correspondent in India and Burma. In 1952, he became the paper's editor and later that of ts sister publication, the Nigerian Citizen.
He was a founding member of the Northern People's Congress and the Northern Nigerian Congress and later became a member of the House of Representatives representing Kano central.
