Abubakar, Emir of Gombe

Alhaji Abubakar was an Emir (ruler) of the emirate of Gombe during the first half of the twentieth century. He was also a member of the Northern Nigeria House of Chiefs during the period.
Prior to becoming an emir, in 1919, he worked as a veterinary assistant after completing his training in two Northern Nigerian cities: Kano and Zaria. In 1923, he left veterinary to work as a personal scribe to then emir.
