Anthony Aniagolu

Anthony Aniagolu is a retired member of the Nigerian Supreme Court. He is also a notable Christian who was head of the Christian Peace Committee inaugurated as a fact finding group charged with the responsibility to find the truth about the tragedy that occurred in March 2002, at the Adoration Ground. (1) He also served as the chairman of a tribunal of inquiry into the Maitatsine riots of 1980.

During the 1980s, he was appointed by President Babangida as chairman of the Constituent Assembly.

Aniagolu attended the Roman Catholic School, Eke, Government College, Umuahia and Christ the King's College, Onithsa. He later went to the University of Bristol where he earned a degree in Law.

He is the father of a few notable persons, including Loretta Aniagolu, Emeka Aniagolu and Jacyee Aniagolu-Johnson.
