Bisi Victor Onabanjo was a Nigerian politician and journalist who was the civilian governor of Ogun state during the second republic.
Onabanjo attended the London Polytechnic where he earned a diploma in journalism. He later went on to edit the Nigerian Citizen and the Daily Service in the 1950s. But it was his stint as editorial director of the Daily Express that led to his popularity especially among followers of the Ijebu politician, Awolowo and opponents of the Balewa government. He wrote a popular column, 'Aiyekoto' in the Express providing clear and reasoned oppositional takes on the Balewa administration, but his column can also be described as sprinkled with oppositional propaganda. Onabanjo was an associate of Obafemi Awolowo.
