Dauda Haruna was a former special member of the Northern Nigeria House of Assembly. He was one of the earliest students of the Community Development Training Center at Man-O-War Bay, Cameroon. The center was created to train Nigeria's future leaders, with many students returning to their communities and picking up teaching and or working as government officials or clerks.
Haruna returned from the center and became a teacher at the Sudan Interior Mission which was in his community of Kwoi-Kafachan. He later took up administrative positions with the Zaria Native Authority.
