Dennis Chukwu

Dennis Chukwu is a Nigerian politician and contractor who represented the district of Awgu in the Nigerian House of representatives during the nation's independence era.

Born in 1929, he went to St Paul's Catholic School, Eke and the College of Immaculate Conception, Enugu. He then began a teaching career in Udi division of present day Enugu State. In 1947, he went back to his alma mater, the College of Immacualte Conception and worked as a private assistant to the Principal. A year later, he joined the staff of the Nigerian Coal Corporation and was with the firm for two years before starting a limestone drilling venture.

Chukwu also participated in community affairs. He was a member of the Awgu District Union and vice president of the district's N.C.N.C. branch.
