Jackson Aleruchi Mpi was an Ikwerre paramount chief who served as president of the Ikwerre State Assembly and was chairman of the Ikwerre County Council.
Mpi was born on September 24, 1910. He attended St Peter's School, Nkarahia Isiokpo and took courses as a correspondence student at Bennett College, Sheffield. During the pre-liberation period, he represented Ahoada in the Nigerian House of Representatives. After the breakdown of the first republic and the subsequent civil war that ensued as a result of the military's incursion to power, he sided with the Biafran secession government.
Mpi was an Anglican lay reader for the Niger Delta Diocese.
