Othman Ladan Baki is a Katsina politician who was a provincial commissioner of Zaria and was also a member of the Northern House of Assembly and the Nigerian House of Representatives. He was a parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Trade in the 50s, and in 1965, he became the Northern region's minister of Trade. He was later made a commissioner in the North Central State in 1967 and subsequently served as a member and chairman of various commissions including membership of the Federal Civil Service Commission in 1975.(1)
Othman was born around 1926 to Muhammad Sada Nadada. He was a nephew of the Emir of Katsina, Nagogo. He attended Katsina Elementary, Primary and Middle School before going to Kaduna College, (1942-1945) and the Civil Engineering School, Kaduna (1945-1947). He started work as an engineering assistant for the katsina Native Authority and rose to the position of Councillor of works.
