Marcus Ubani

Marcus Ubani (1911) was a Nigerian politician from the Aba region of Nigerian who was a member of the House of Representatives from 1954 to the first republic. He was elected in 1954 as a member of the United National Independence Party.


Ubani was born in Umugo. He graduated from Government School, Umuahia in 1931 and then went to the Yaba Higher College. In 1947, he was elected as a member of the Eastern House of Assembly and had been active in community and political affairs since the period, serving as the co-founder of an Aba community league and later becoming the chairman of the Southern Ngwa Rural District Council. In 1950, he was a delegate to the Constitutional Conference in Ibadan.

Prior to becoming a member of the regional house, he had served as the president of the Ngwa Clan Council
