Michael Ogon

Michael Eta Ogon was a junior member of the Eastern House of Assembly during the Nigerian first republic. He served as a parliamentary secretary, Eastern Nigeria ministry of Lands and later was the government chief whip in the assembly.

Ogon was born on October 10, 1930; his father was Ogon Asu. He was educated at St Patrick's and St Martin's School, Ikom and later went to St St Thomas College, Ogoja. He then worked as headmaster of a school in Ajassor and Kahwagom. In 1952, he joined the regional House of Assembly and was later a councilor of the Ikom County council.

Ogon was also a provincial commissioner for Ogoja and Port Harcourt and was a member of the Nigerian Peoples Party.
