Muhammadu Bello, Paiko

Muhammadu Bello was Sarkin of Paiko and a member of the Northern House of Chiefs during the nation's independence period. He was also a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives.


Bello was born on January 12, 1918 to Daudu Abdu. He attended an elementary school in Kuta, Niger State and later went to Bida Middle School. He started work as an agricultural assistant and later delved into trading in rubber. In 1942, he moved into the offices of native administration in Minna as a treasurer.

He was made Sarkin Paiko in 1953, before that he was a member of the Northern House of Assembly.
