Nwachukwu Abii

Dennis Nwachukwu Abii was a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, representing a district in Owerri during the first republic. Prior to joining politics, he was a teacher at the Holy Ghost College, Owerri.


Abii was born to a royal family from the Owerri area. He attended St Patrick's School, Ekwereazu, Our Lady's School, Emekuku and St Charles College, Onitsha. He received a teachers senior certificate in 1943 and 1949. He started a career in teaching in 1936 at St Brigid's School, Ahiara. He was subsequently headmaster of schools in Amugi and later in Owerri.

Abii was an executive member of the Ibo State Union and the Owerri Divisional Union, he also served as president of the Ezinihitte Central Union.
