Youth social circle
The Youth Social Circle was one of the early political organizations in Northern Nigeria. The society was formed in 1945 and mostly consisted of members from Sokoto province. It was started by educated youths who were exposed to some of the efforts and writings on nationalism.
Many of the circle's members came from aristocratic backgrounds. The prime mover of the group was Sa'adu Zungur who was ably assisted by Shehu Shagari, Ahmadu Danbaba and Ibrahim Gusau. (1) The organization had Ahmadu Bello has a patron.
