Adebowale Howells

Adebowale Charles Howells was a Nigerian public relations consultant, journalist and administrator who was one of the proprietors of the Nigerian Echo. He later served in an acting capacity as the director of information service in the Western Region during the mid 1950s.

Howells was born to the family of Bishop Howells Sr on August 21, 1902 He later later married Joyce Adewunmi, daughter of Ladapo Ademola, the Alake of Egba. He attended C.M.S. Grammar School, Lagos, Abeokuta Grammar School and King's College before training as a pharmacist. He worked as a government pharmacist and later in his career as a chemist with the West African army and air force. Intermittently, he was an editor with the Nigerian Echo and assisted in editorial duties at the Daily Service.
