Benjamin Alewo Obaje was a member of the Federal Parliament during Nigeria's pre-liberation period. He represented Igala South in the House under the banner of the Igala Divisional Union and the Northern People's Congress. In 1959, he lost his parliamentary seat to D.O. Enefola.
He attended the C.M.S. School, Ibadan and worked for the Igala Native Authority and in carpentry. He later moved into trading and later representing various Kabba provincial committees.
