Sani Marshal

Sani Marshal (1927-2007) was a Nigerian businessman from Kano state with interests in the transport, building and construction industry. He started his career in the transport business as a bicycle repair hand and later worked as a motor driver before acquiring his first lorry in 1955. By 1966, he was transporting produce for the Northern Nigeria marketing board. In the 70s, he invested in real estate, construction and the food business notably macaroni and biscuits with the establishment of Kaura Biscuits and Macaroni Factory. His real estate business included an housing estate built in Kano that provided housing for government officials in the 1970s and a residential hotel. During the Nigerian second republic, he was one of the few prominent Kano merchants and industrialists affiliated with the Peoples Redemption Party.
