Charles Madarikan

Charles Olusoji Madarikan was a Nigerian Supreme Court Judge from 1967-1972 who later became president of the Court of Appeal, Western Nigeria. Towards the end of the 1970s, he was a commissioner of Agriculture and Finance in Lagos State.


Madarikan was born on February 19, 1922 to Rev Owen Madarikan. He attended St Paul's Breadfruit School, C.M.S. Grammar School, and the Yaba Higher College. He later studied law at the Inns of Court School of Law, London and was called to the bar in 1948. In 1958, he became the chief registrar of the Nigerian Supreme Court becoming a judge in 1967.

He was briefly the director of Public Prosecutions in Western Nigerian in 1959.
