The Late Jelili Adebisi Ajetumobi Adegoke Omotola (SAN) was a man of true pedigree and fine distinction whose scholarly and brilliant mind was evident through his vast achievements and contributions in the academia and far beyond.

The Late Professor straddled major citadels of learning with huge published works, conferences, court references, inventions, academic distinctions, professional/academic distinctions, scholarships, fellowships, journal contributions and editorials.

The erudite late Professor invented the word “DEEMED GRANT” in order to distinguish it from “ACTUAL GRANT” in the Land Use Act(1978) first contested at the Court of Appeal, accepted as Professor Omotola’s invention in the Supreme Court. The term is now nationally adopted.

Late Jelili Adebisi Omotola, Law Professor, Former Vice Chancellor University of Lagos, Senior Advocate Of Nigeria, Life Bencher, Former Dean, Faculty of Law University of Lagos, Former Dean , Faculty of Law Ogun State University was born in Imupa, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State in 1941. He was one of three sons from his mum and he was the middle son. He was married with children.
